Privacy policy

The short version
Shapes Away doesn’t ask for your name, email or any account. Your game progress stays on your device. To show the optional ad, understand how the game is played and fix crashes, we use Google services that collect limited device and usage data, described below. We never sell your data.
What the game stores on your device
Your scores, boards cleared, current run, daily challenge results and settings. This stays on your device and is not sent to us.
Ads (Google AdMob)
The only ad in the game is optional: you can choose to watch one to continue a run after running out of hearts. AdMob may collect your device’s advertising identifier, approximate location (from your IP address), and ad interaction and diagnostic data to show and measure ads and prevent fraud. On iPhone and iPad we ask for permission before using the advertising identifier for tracking; in the EU, UK and other regions where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first. You can change these choices at any time in your device settings or in the game’s privacy settings.
Usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
We collect anonymous gameplay events, such as boards reached and cleared, mistakes, undos and hints used, and whether the daily challenge was completed. Along with this, Firebase collects an app-instance ID, device model, operating system version, app version, country (from your IP address) and session information. We use this only to improve the game. You can turn it off in Settings › Share anonymous usage data.
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
If the game crashes, Crashlytics sends a crash report: the error, device model, operating system and app version, and a random installation ID. Crash reports don’t include anything you typed or any personal information.
Leaderboards (Game Center / Google Play Games)
If you choose to sign in to Game Center (Apple) or Google Play Games, your scores are sent to that service with your player name there. This is handled by Apple or Google under their privacy policies; we don’t receive your account details.
What we don’t collect
No name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, microphone or camera. No account is needed.
Third-party services
Google AdMob, Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics (Google: policies.google.com/privacy), plus Apple Game Center or Google Play Games if you sign in.
Children
Shapes Away is a general-audience puzzle game and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
Keeping and deleting data
Game data on your device: go to Settings › Delete my data, or uninstall the app. Analytics data is kept by Google for 14 months, then deleted. Because we don’t have accounts, we can’t link Google’s data to you; you can reset your device’s advertising ID at any time in your device settings.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. The latest version is always at tinkuro.com/shapes-away/privacy.
